The Oratia Bowling Club is run by locals for locals. It's a space for the community to meet friends and make new connections.
We are open weekdays 8.30am to 2.30pm, with the on site OBC Cafe serving great coffee and good simple food.
Our bar is open on Friday nights twice a month with regular events and quiz nights. See our Facebook page for details.
HISTORY
Many of the names on the club honours board tell the story of Oratia, a valley settled in the 1860’s by Dalmatian immigrants making their homes and livelihoods in the yellow clay with orchards of apples, plums and grapevines.
Since its incorporation in December 1943, the hard work and commitment of volunteers has built the Oratia Bowling Club for the enjoyment of the community.
We recognise the importance of the club today to renew interest in the game of bowls, and as a place where locals of all ages can gather and enjoy each other’s company.
The OBC Cafe offers a community hub with great coffee, fresh food, and a welcoming atmosphere.
